This will be the one of the few times in the last several years that I won’t be participating in the RJA Memorial Mighty Montauk Triathlon, due to a minor injury that has me sidelined for a little while. Sending best wishes to all the incredible athletes who will participate. I am looking forward to competing in the Mighty Hamptons Olympic Distance Triathlon in September.
I first met Elie – just after he finish the 2012 New York City Ironman – Where I started asking him the post race medical check questions – he seemed strong allert – his body was lean and tight – When I asked him how he felt – Elie said that he felt a little embarrassed – Embarrased? Why? – Due to shrinkage! – Boy did I walk into that one . . . You have to love the guy because he just finished a Full Ironman where you Swim 2.4 miles – Bike 112 miles – then Run a full Marathon – Imagine doing all of that and he’s quick whittled to use quip referencing to George Costanza from Seinfeld ! – Well my friend – I hope you fully recover and heal from any of the miner ailments that might have you temporarily sidelined – stay grounded – your athletic abilities are admirable – I for one would like to hear more about the drive – the regiment – conditioning and nutritional forces that keep you going – how many major endurance events have you completed ? – The 2012 NYC Ironman was number 75 – Wishing you well – enjoy your summer !
